any ideas…

3 Answers  |  Asked By: _wHiSkAs_   83

there is no way my cat is pure Siamese, considering the fact that my relative found him as a stray wandering around her apartment building porch. he has a face sort of like a siamese, but his nose area is more of a gray color than the dark color on a siamese. his body is mainly a light gray color,, his arms are white, and paws are the same color as his nose area. his tail is the same color also with darker gray color stripes, and has light blue eyes. he is not as skinny nor as… hairless, i guess you could say, as a pure siamese. any ideas?

p.s. just saying we named him frankie after frank sinatra because of his blue eyes lol

Siamese cats aren’t hairless, maybe you’re thining of the Sphynx. They also come in several colors, not just the dark seal point (some registries only allow seal, chocolate, lilac and blue points to be registered as siamese and other colors are registered as colorpoint shorthairs but they are essentially the same breed). That said, your cat probably isn’t a Siamese but just a cat that happens to have the recessive gene for point-restricted coloring. My cat looks very similar to what you are describing and she came from a litter of cats that mostly had normal orange and tabby-striped coloring except for one sibling that looked like her.

Your cat may be a “traditional” or “apple-head” siamese though. Some breeders do not breed the really thin, whippy “ultra-typed” siamese that you see in cat shows but rather cats of a more moderate body type. Without pedigree papers though there is no way of confirming this. Just finding a cat as a stray, though, doesn’t mean it can’t be a purebred cat. Even purebreds get dumped outside sometimes (especially in apartment complexes, sometimes if somebody is moving out and doesn’t want to or won’t take the cat, or they aren’t supposed to have pets and the landlord finds out, they just dump them outside to fend for themselves, which is very inhumane but people do that).

Whatever your cat is, purebred or mixed, he sounds like a very pretty cat and I hope you and Frankie have many good years together.

I think he’s a mixed like my cat. It sounds like he’s mixed with Siamese and…whatever else.
