I have seen pure orange females, this isn’t actually true but an old wives’ tale. It is true that it is more *common* for male cats to be pure orange since the gene causing orange color is on the X chromosome and they only get one copy. Females get two copies of the X chromosome and if they have one orange and one normal gene for color, they will be calicos, which is why you don’t see calico males unless they have an extra chromosome (kleinfelters syndrome or something similar).

Yes but like Calico males it is very rare to see an all orange female. I just talked to my cats vet and that is what she told me.

yes thier are all orange cats i found one in the backyard

Yes. I did know that “all pure orange cats are males.” but there are pure orange females too. i know that becuase i own one. just like there are calico males.

I did not know that, but now that I think of it, I’ve never seen any all orange female cats. Thats pretty cool.
