About Me: I am a dog person who was reluctantly turned on to cats when it became apparent that apartment living was not going to be conducive to having a dog. I couldn\'t be more of a cat lover now, though! They are pretty great! My husband and I have two lovable little furballs, Princess Vespa and Barack Obama, and I am constantly trying to convince him to expand our brood! We just purchased our first home and are enjoying the new challenges of home ownership. Hurrah for DIY power!!!

Personal Interests: Travel, SCUBA Diving, Roller Derby, Teaching, Cooking, Running, Animals of all types, Karaoke, Music of almost all varieties, Dance, Landscaping, DIY home improvement projects, Katamari...

Cats:
  • Princess Vespa - Domestic Long Hair
  • Barack Obama - Domestic Short Hair

\\\"Bizarre\\\" is completely subjective.

Cat Health

I don\\\'t have any experience with tapeworms, but I\\\'m pretty sure that they ingest a lot of the nutrients that the cat takes in. That would result in limited defecation, I would imagine. How long has it been since he defecated? I would consult with your vet before trying any home remedies.

Cat Behavior

There hasn\\\'t been any presence of a moderator on this board for over a year. It\\\'s quite unfortunate, what with the excessive trolling.

Cat Health

A mass in her stomach plus the added symptom of straining to defecate & producing little liquid feces when she does sounds like some kind of blockage. She could have ingested something that she shouldn\\\'t have (yarn, a toy, a bird, etc.). One of my cats had this issue when she was about a year old - she had swallowed an entire package of ponytail holders. It could also be that she has some sort of tumor in her stomach. I\\\'m not sure why your vet gave her an antibiotic for a lump... That doesn\\\'t sound quite right. You might want to ask for an x-ray or ultrasound to try to determine what it is.
