Try bringing your cat out on a leash. I started taking him out about 6 months ago. Before he went outside would lay in window and just lay there and watch. he loves going out and exploring. He used to watch butterflies from the window and know he is out there chasing them. He has a harness on and use a retractable leash. I out there with him whole time with him to. he loves finding bugs and pouncing and lots of stuff

Think should have an indoor cat but bring outside on leash so cant get hurt and fills some of his natural instincts and chase bugs and just have fun. makes such a difference.
me and my cat were already close, he is an indoor cat and I started taking him on his leash and makes him extremely happy and since started bringing him out our bond got so strong. I dont mind taking him out almost everyday because makes him happy
The first time i tried putting a harness on my cat to take him outside on a leash was a horrible experience. Me and my husband tried putting a collar on him and was much easier to put on we could put it on him with out a struggle. Once he realized collar meant outside he couldn\\\'t wait to put it on. I know collars not good but used briefly and now his favorite toy is his harness but when he got used to that we switched to harness. he was lil cranky at first, we would go outside he would lay in the grass and pout few min but after few min he for got about harness and back to exploring yard and neighborhood
