I have the same problem & I know how to handle it so don't worry please & I know whhat it means to have someone say that!! get him a litter box & this will be hard but you will get to keep your cat!! so you get a litter box & put it in a room with tile floors & 1 with a door you put your cat in it for a while until he learns what the litter box is for & if he pees it's on tile so it's really easy to clean!! tell this to your mom & tell her you'll take full resposibility & she might understand also keep him in there & don't let him out & give him food & water!!

Heres a really good tip & it works REALLY well!!! when your cats are eating or doing something like that go over to them and constantly repeat their names to them that way they get it in their heads & they might realize " Oh! i think this is my name alright!!" but this might take some time so beware. tell me if this works for you!!! hope this helps you!!
