Cat Health

Here is some information I got on the internet: hello, my cat is 16 yrs old and has started to get a lump on her belly, its on her right side and is visible through the fur, kind of browny red in colour and a size of a small sprout. thank you Hi are you sure it is not one of her teats? As the description you gave sounds similar. If not then it is obviously some kind of growth, harmless or not?, the only way to find out for sure is to get them checked by a vet. In fact the sooner you have her checked the better as if it is something that needs to be removed the earlier it is caught the better. i found a lump on my 16 week kitten. it is under its belly and it seems to be getting a little bit bigger. when i touch it my kitten doesnt seem to mind so it doesnt hurt. i got my kitten out of a shelter so this may have somethin to do with it. im for the vet in a couple of days anyway so i can get it examined but i was wondering if anyone else has ever came accross the same thing 1 year ago . If it is under its umbilicus (belly button) it may be a herniated umbilcal opening. This is fairly common in small animals and is easily corrected in a fast procedure by a Vet under general anaesthesia. My suggestion with this and really with any type of lump is to watch it for a day or so and if it doesn't resolve take the baby into the vet. If it turns out to be nothing then you will have had a nice well baby check up and if it is something then you will nip it in the bud. Another idea is to take him or her to the vet's! The doc could find out if it is a tumor or whatever. Recently, at my cat and dog hospital, a cat came in with the same problem. It had a tumor, and I did a minor operation to take it out. Now, the cat is fine. That is a good idea. Mama Mia

Cat Behavior

Guess what! My cat does the same thing! He sticks his left paw into things(some things he shouldn't!), swats at me with his left paw, and licks his left paw to clean himself. Wow! 20%! Good job, catsofmany. You did a great job. You, Kat, Russainbleu, Fluffy, and all the other 'cats' that answer properly are the people we need on www.cats.com.
