Breeds

Sphynx cats do have dander and they are not truly hairless. They have a soft "peach fuzz" of fur that is visible when looked at closely. A Don Sphynx and a Russian Sphynx have more of a "sticky bald" coat, which means they will sometimes have less of that fuzz, but still produce dander. Also, keep in mind anything with skin will have dander. You can shave your legs but you'll skin will still regenerate and shed its dead cells. Hope that helps : )

Breeds

No cat is hypoallergenic cats or dogs. plain and simple, because there will always be something about an animal that someone is allergic to somewhere. now that that's said a Sphynx cat is a great breed for someone with bad allergies, but it depends on what the allergies are. My boyfriend and i are horribly allergic to cats, even being around someone with one will set our allergies off for the next 10 hours. I learned about a Sphynx through a friend who actually had one and brought it into class with her back in school. It was and still is the ONLY breed of cat that i can play with, be around and cuddle without having a sniffle, sneeze, or watery eye. But that being said it is because we learned that both my boyfriend and I are allergic to FUR not their breed specific dander or their saliva. They still produce many allergens that people can be allergic to, and the only way to find out is being around one. Personally, I feel grateful that i am allergic to any other breed because that gives me more reason to see my cat as a blessing in our home : )
