Cat Health

The injury is serious. And so is the pain. He needs to be seen by a vet. Be careful not to cause him more pain by touching his back again.

Cat Health

I hope they gave him a shot of antibiotics at the vet. Cats heal wounds by licking them clean (it is a way of immunizing themselves against the infecting bacteria). But I can readily understand vomiting afterwards. If he has a favorite food or snack such as tuna or catnip treats (no matter the quality) use that to try to get him to eat and ingest the antibiotics. It sounds like his immune system is not up to par. Has he had his shots? FIV and FelV? The antibiotics can take a while to work, especially if the infection is pretty much isolated from the rest of his body in an abscess. If he continues to refuse to eat, you should call the vet and ask about using a topical antibiotic salve or ointment that would be safe for cats.

Cat Behavior

It sounds like your cat needs to be spayed. Also sounds like someone is playing too rough with her or when she isn\\\'t in the mood for playing. She needs something to sharpen her claws (like a chunk of plywood or fireplace log or short 2by6). When she scratches at the wall or couch, say \\\'No\\\' and demonstrate the use of the log or other wood by scraping your nails over it. It won\\\'t take long for her to recognize and use it. I doubt if she has rabies. But cats are very temperamental - wanting to be petted one minute and mad the next because someone tried to pick her up or hold her in one spot.

Cat Health

A tumor there for a long time has metastasized, spread to other tissues or organs. There would be no way to cure him. When it was new and small, it could have been removed (unless it had started elsewhere and spread to the lung).
