just take your cat to the vet she may just have a bad case of the kitty version of the stomach virus. humans get the stomach virus very easily and so do cats so maybe she just has a bad bug

cotton is usually digestible but if he starts couphing and he doesnt stop for like 5 or ten minutes go to the vet he may not be able to throw it up but he should be able to digest keep a close eye on him and he should be fine
