Cat Health

It would be best to consult directly with your vet regarding the treatment. If a steroid shot has been administered and topical treatment isn't working long term, the vet may take a culture of one of the pustules and prescribe an oral antibiotic. If this is not effective, they might consider prescribing isotretinoin (Accutane). Also, be sure that he cat is tested to determine that what is appearing on the skin is, in fact, acne or if it is one of the conditions that can mimic feline acne, such as ringworm, allergies, yeast infections or mange.

Cat Health

The symtpoms of kidney failure in a cat include: Weight loss. Reluctance to eat. Increased urine production. Altered drinking habits: increased thirst (resulting from increased urine production) may drive your cat to drink in unusal places Gingivitis. Vomiting. Bad breath. Poor coat condition. Depression and lethargy. Definitely get your cat to the vet. Kat is correct that blood in the urine is a sign of a UTI. UTI's can result in blockage that lead to renal failure in your cat, so getting them treated early is important.

Cat Care

Cats produce a protein in their salivary and sebaceous glands that some people are allergic to. This is why hairless cats are not "hypoallergenic" as some claim, since they still secrete sebum and groom themselves with their own saliva. There does appear to be a hormonal connection in secretions from the sebaceous glands, so a male cat will be more "potent" than a female or neutered male.

Cat Behavior

Oddly enough, this is one of those things scientists have not been able to pinpoint specifically. The vibration of the cat's vocal chords causes this sound, a fast twitching of muscles in the larynx, but the exact mechanics of the process are still in question.
