When I've play with cats, what I've found is that they are happy with just the simple stuff, not anything complicated or fancy. Some string is the best option for people, since it is non-expensive and the kittys love it. In this econamy, you cant waste money on bad stuff that your kitty might not even use. Another good option is this homade birdie that my sister's friend made for her kitty. What you do is tie some string to the end of a pole or stick and to the other end of the string tie some fake feathers you can get at the craft store. The kittys like it becuse it is like a real birdie.
