Cat Adoption
There is no certain age to obtain a pet, althogh young children do have a tendancy to frighten cats by let's say, pulling their tails, screeching in their ears etc. but if you teach the young child to have respect and show care for the animal, I don't see why not. Also, it helps to teach the child that it is a big responsability to keep a pet and that they must help to feed it and clean up after it.
Cat Feeding
Your cat probably has a minor medical problem, which could be checked out by a vet or feline weight expert!
Cat Tales
It is natural for a cat to show affection by rubbing against your legs and nudging your hands, so I would say that your cat just wants to show you it loves you. It could also be asking for attention or for you to spend time with it. Whatever it is, I'm sure it is not abnormal or unusual.
Cat Health
I have read in my Medical Book that there is no exact proof of the whole wet nose, dry nose theory, although in my experience, a very wet and cold nose along with other symptoms means your cat could possibley have a cse of cat flu, thogh I would take it to the vet to be sure!
