I agree with Jpete46. Just make sure that you are pushing your cat out of the way with your foot and that you are not kicking it. Cats, due to their size can get injured much easier than you or I. So we always need to make sure that we are not kicking our cat since they can\\\'t verbally talk to let us know what is wrong.
I agree with ziggy_bo43. The best method that I have found with my cats is clapping. I am down to one cat as of now, but she is fully trained by the hand clapping method. She now knows that she is not allowed to lay on the furniture unless I have placed a blanket on top of it, and I have trained her to go to her bedroom with 2 claps in succession. This is a wonderful tool if your cat responds to it.
