Cat Behavior
The first cat we ever owned became pregnant. She was a stray, but I would guess she was around a year. She nested in this little house my dad made her that he put in the basement so it could be dark and quiet, he had blankets, newspaper in it, and he put little windows on the roof part so we could see in. She did everything on her own, had 6 kittens and all were healthy and everything was so clean afterward...it was amazing. We didn't get to see her give birth, as it happened overnight...but when we woke up...what a surprise! We kept one kitten who is 14 now. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it, their own instincts kick in. I work in an animal hospital and rarely do we ever help animals give birth.
