Laynakitten, Why do you want to trim your fluffy cat? Where are you trimming? Cat fur is natural protection for them, although there are certainly times when it is appropriate to shorten or trim it.

Lots of different answers here! And probably all right, as every cat is different. How often you should bathe your cat depends upon that individual cat's skin and coat texture. I would agree with those that said no more than once a month at first, and to use cat wipes for spot cleaning in between. (Make sure the wipes are specifically labeled for cats - remember how sensitive cats can be to chemicals that don't bother dogs or humans). If once a month keeps your cat clean with the use of wipes in between, great. If not, you can try every three weeks but be sure to use a gentle shampoo without a lot of surfactants or harsh degreasers. Consider the use of a light conditioner to replace the moisture removed by bathing.
