Cat Health
It may be some allergy or maybe she has consumed something other than what you are feeding her. You may also have cat acne, which is more common on older cats. If it is cat acne, you may want to wait for it to go away, or ask the vet if he has something like antibodics for it. Cats may have many diseases. A swelled up lip is a symptom of abscess that is cause because pf bacteria infecting. You could take some anti-bacterial medicine and MAYBE give your cat a bath with soap. If these spots don't go away as quickly as you think they should, you should probably call the vet.
Cat Tales
I believe you are both right. There are people who want attention and joke around on this website. No one appreciates them. But there ARE also many people who DO take this website seriously. I've been on cats.com for a long time, and when I first got here, there was almost NO ONE who was mean and annoying. Now they're everywhere. But there are people who have questions with cats that are really weird. They don't HAVE to be jokes because they don't sound normal, 'cause the truth is, cats are not all normal. Also, you can tell if someone is making a cruel fake post. I saw one that asked for cat meat recipes because supposedly killed his cat with a shovel and not to tell on him. Obviously, that person does not belong on cats.com. Maybe some of them actually visited myspace. I hope.. By the way, could people not minus me? I think I've got a bad reputation with the "bad" people on here, and they minus me for no reason.

Cat Care
Cats generally have a good sense to figure out how to get to home. If your cat ran off chasing something, no one really knows how far it could be. But the time for cats to come back vary. This 5 days could just be beginning, or the cat may come back may come back within a few more days. YOu have basically done everything you can to find your cat. Now all I would do is wait but dont't give up. Now, if this goes on as long as 6 months or longer, I would not put food out anymore. I wish you luck and hope you find your cat. Losing a pet is very depressing, whether it was your favorite or not.
Cat Care
Cats are different. I've had 4 cats in my life, and only 2 have I given baths to. The first cat I've bathed LOVED water, and it was VERY easy to give it a bath. (This was done at an early age) My other cat HATED it. She tried to get out, and oevenscratched a little bit. She was young too. This just shows that cats act differently to water. Plus, the only reasons we gave our cats a bath was because they were dirty with DIRT because they went outside and the parts that were dirty were spots where the cat didn't seem to want to clean. So please don't give your cat a bath unless your SURE the cat needs it. Cats can tend not to like water if you try to bathe them in it much.
