my cat is 16 yrs old ,she has a big knot on the side of her neck,I can`t afford to take her to the vet right now ,she is very weak and sleeps all the time,she has a bad smell to her is this the smell of death?

it walks around dragging its ass on the ground and blood trails behind it and it makes a whining sound. i think it passed out an hour ago from the pain bc its still breathing. should i stitch up the wounds myself or just shoot it again? please help
