Its about 6 months old( I recently rescued her) and its the 2nd day of howling full-fledged heat and I want to know how long it lasts and then do I spay her or do vets perform the operation at NO RISK to the kitten while IN heat?

It’s between the rib cage and belly (between his two front arms). It feels like a hole opening. What is it? It’s not an open wound or anything like that. It’s covered with fur. He had it since he was smaller (he’s 17 weeks now). He is very hyper and happy.
