I softly pet my cat when he’s tired and he eventually falls asleep, but when he wakes up I see his third eyelid! I also see it when he’s about to fall asleep. I know it’s a sign of illness right? But when he’s fully awake there’s no sign of it… is this normal???

I have been treating my cat for ear mights for the past six days her ears are now crusty and still have the brown junk coming out, they are getting better. my question is, is the crusty just part of the process or do I need to take her to the vet?
